Metal 3D Printers
Metal printers build parts from powdered or wire metal. The most common approach, powder bed fusion, uses a laser to melt thin layers of powder, while binder jetting and directed energy deposition offer other tradeoffs in speed and part size. Aerospace suppliers, medical device makers, and tooling shops use metal printers for lightweight brackets, implants, and conformal cooling inserts. Before buying, plan for inert gas supply, powder handling safety, facility power, and trained operators. Most metal systems are bought new, though well documented used machines do appear on the market.
