Rotary Screw and Piston Compressors
Piston compressors use a piston to squeeze air into a tank and work well for smaller shops with lighter or on and off demand. Rotary screw compressors use two meshing rotors, can run all day, and deliver steady air with less noise, which makes them the favorite of busy repair shops, body shops, and fleet garages. Size your compressor by adding up the CFM (cubic feet per minute) your tools need at once, then leave room for growth. Consider variable speed drives for energy savings, tank size, and your power supply. A rebuilt screw compressor can be a value if it comes with service records.
